Question 63: There are four amendments to the U.S. Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.
Official answers (any one counts)
USCIS accepts any of these answers. If the question asks for more than one, give as many as it asks.
- Citizens eighteen (18) and older (can vote).
- You don't have to pay (a poll tax) to vote.
- Any citizen can vote. (Women and men can vote.)
- A male citizen of any race (can vote).
Grandpa explains
One says 18 and older can vote, kiddo; one bans paying to vote; one lets women vote; one says race doesn't matter.
Careful: these are NOT the answer
These are the common mix-ups. The app uses them as traps so you practice.
- Only citizens who own land can vote.
- You must pass a reading test to vote.
- Only citizens born here can vote.
On the 2008 test this is question 48
If you filed your N-400 before October 20, 2025, you take the 2008 version. Which one is mine?
